Oakwood Estate
Overview
This project is currently on-hold.
Scope of Delivered Work- Landscape Masterplan, Conceptual Landscape Design, Details for Bio-fencing, Boundary & Pond.
This multiple cottage community, sits on a 1 acre site at about 1400 meters elevation, on a north facing stepped hillside, with views of the valley below. The partially shaded situation has enabled native several Banj Oak (Quercus leucotrichophora) trees to mature on site, all carefully integrated within the scheme. The landscape scheme works with the natural processes & features of site and uses them to advantage to create a series of outdoor experiences and encourage everyday engagement with nature.
Principal Components:
✓ A naturalistic holding pond to aid groundwater recharge within an open woodland like setting;
✓ Native/ naturalized deciduous trees to maintain seasonal interest through the year;
✓ Productive community terrace with climbing and low growing fruits and veggies.
✓ Sightlines towards desirable views of the valley and the distant mountain range;
✓ Experiential trails across site with highlighted pause points;
✓ A range of microhabitats to attract useful pollinators and encourage long term sustainability;
✓ Local earthy materials;
✓ Multipurpose bio-fencing.
